DNS Abuse

For this policy, DNS Abuse means malware, botnets, phishing, pharming, and spam when used as a delivery mechanism for those forms of abuse. Other content, copyright, fraud, inaccurate-data or hosting-use reports use the same channel but are evaluated under the relevant policy and technical role.

Public channel and acknowledgment

Reports may be submitted without login through the public form or to [email protected]. A report should identify the domain or URL, abuse type, evidence, relevant timestamps and reporter contact. SoxDomains.com will acknowledge receipt when the reporting channel permits a response; acknowledgment does not mean that the report has been validated.

Investigation and proportionate mitigation

SoxDomains.com reviews actionable evidence, urgency, harm, affected Service, technical control, possible account compromise and collateral risk. It may request information, preserve evidence, notify the customer, escalate to the sponsoring registrar, registry or hosting provider, and take or request reasonable measures to stop or disrupt the abuse. A report does not automatically cause suspension, DNS change, transfer, cancellation or removal.

Role of SoxDomains.com

SoxDomains.com acts as an independent reseller and supplier and does not represent the registrar or registry. When an action is outside its control, a report may be referred to the competent provider. Contractual obligations belonging to a registrar or registry are not presented as direct obligations of SoxDomains.com.
